UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – With the vast majority of questions submitted in advance of Penn State President Eric Barron’s first spring webcast coming from Penn State faculty and staff, the Wednesday livestream will focus on topics affecting employees. Questions submitted by students, parents and others have been retained and will be addressed in future webcasts or other University communications.

Joining Barron for the March 31 webcast will be Lorraine Goffe, vice president for Human Resources and chief human resources officer, and Kelly Wolgast, director of the COVID-19 Operations Control Center.

The livestream can be viewed online at https://liveevents.psu.edu beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31.

As COVID-19 testing positivity rates are ticking upward both locally and nationally, University officials are watching the trends closely and responding to immediate needs for mitigation while also making flexible plans for the summer and fall.

The Wednesday webcast will address these plans and other important topics for University faculty and staff about the impact of the pandemic on Penn State and the University’s ongoing response. The complete details of the University’s plans for the summer and fall are still being finalized, but the webcast will provide as much information as possible about what is known at this time.

The next webcast with Barron and guests will be scheduled for some time in April. An announcement will be shared on Penn State News and Penn State Today.

The discussion will also be archived online for later viewing.
