Smart Health Research Colloquium to be held April 7

Penn State Center for Health Organization Transformation (CHOT) hosts its virtual Smart Health Research Colloquium from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. on April 7.

Pratik J. Parikh, professor and chair of industrial engineering at University of Louisville, will present “Trauma Care: Approaches for Provision of Prompt and Definitive Care.” Starting with the typical process of how care is provided to a trauma victim at the scene, Parikh will briefly discuss various strategic and operational decisions and their effects on patient safety and costs.

Taewoo Lee, assistant professor of industrial engineering at University of Houston, will present “Optimal Design of a Teleretinal Screening Program for At-Risk Patients.” In this talk, Lee will discuss his recent project developing a personalized screening decision tool that determines optimal teleretinal-imaging recommendations for different types of patients over time.

Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute and Penn State College of Medicine are co-sponsoring this series. The colloquium series continues on April 28.
