President Barron to honor student entrepreneurial teams during Startup Week

Virtual Student Recognition Reception to take place on March 25

Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC will culminate with a celebration of student entrepreneurs and innovators in technology, health, the arts, education, sustainability and global impact.

Penn State students will be honored for their dedication and outstanding work at a Virtual Student Recognition Reception, happening from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 25. At this year’s Virtual Student Recognition Reception, Penn State President Eric Barron will honor student teams who placed or advanced in University-wide challenges and competitions during Startup Week and throughout the academic year.

Leonardo Girlando, a junior studying finance and Chinese at Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College, will host the event. Girlando is president of Happy Valley Capital and the Global China Connection Penn State Chapter, in addition to being part of the Barron’s in Education Ambassador program.

This virtual event via Zoom is open to the public, and registration is not required.

Being featured during the Virtual Student Recognition Reception are teams from the Ag Springboard Competition, Nittany AI Challenge, Inc.U Competition, HackPSU, Happy Valley Capital Pitch Competition, IdeaMakers Challenge, Arts Business Idea Challenge, Mont Alto LaunchBox LION Tank, Start.Me.Up Mini-Challenge and Penn State Shenango “What’s Your Big Idea?” Challenge.
