UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Ever since the pandemic introduced a new normal, ambiguity and uncertainty have become a part of people’s daily lives. Leaders and organizations must utilize creativity to navigate ambiguous terrain and emerge out of this new normal stronger and more inspired.

From 6-7 p.m. on Monday, March 22, during Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC, Natalie Nixon, president of Figure 8 Thinking LLC, will detail how practical creativity techniques can shift mindsets and stretch thinking during the virtual keynote speaker event, “Get Comfortable with Ambiguity.” Attendees will gain tools to view the trajectory of their work through an alternate lens and gain inspiration to move forward amid uncertainty.

This virtual event via Zoom is open to all Penn State students, and registration is not required.

As president of Figure 8 Thinking, Nixon advises leaders and executive teams on how to achieve transformative business results by applying creativity and foresight. Clients have included Comcast, Citrix, Living Cities, VaynerMedia and Bloomberg. Before her time with Figure 8 Thinking, Nixon was a professor for 16 years. In addition, she is an early-stage investor at two social impact ventures.

Nena Ellis, director of marketing and communications for Invent Penn State, and Grace Bradley, a senior double majoring in film/video and broadcast journalism, will moderate the virtual keynote speaker event.

Throughout her career, Ellis’ strategic work has been integral to the development of numerous brands, from tech startups to consumer brands, like AIRWALK. Bradley currently serves as the Executive Student Director at CommAgency and an Executive Producer for Centre County Report.
