UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Students searching for involvement in organizations, academic pathways and community resources that support their interests in innovation and entrepreneurship need to look no further.

From 4-5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, during Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC, Lion LaunchPad will be hosting Startup Market, a virtual, University-wide resource fair. The market features informational resources about microgrants, no-cost business consulting, business accelerators, and networking opportunities, among other services.

Startup Market is open to all Penn State students, regardless of academic year or major. Preregistration is not required.

“The Lion LaunchPad Living Learning Community is a unique student living option located in North Halls," says Linda Feltman, faculty associate for the Lion LaunchPad. “It is a community of like-minded students interested in exploring their potential in thinking differently. Past students say Startup Market provided them an opportunity to explore their entrepreneurial interests outside of the classroom. We’re excited to host this event again and are inviting students to show up ready to make meaningful connections and to learn more about the entrepreneurship ecosystem at Penn State.”

This year, Startup Market will feature many great organizations, which include Ben Franklin TechCelerator, Happy Valley Capital, Happy Valley LaunchBox powered by PNC Bank, Invent Penn State, PennTAP and the Penn State Small Business Development Center, among others.

Startup Market is held in conjunction with the Small Business and Startup Career Fair, which will be held virtually from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23. The Small Business and Startup Career Fair is hosted by Penn State Career Services and is a university-wide career fair for students looking for opportunities to work in a startup or small business environment.
