UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State instructors from across the commonwealth are invited to connect with one another virtually for a mid-semester pick-me-up. “Refresh and Recharge — Virtual Coffee and Conversation for Instructors,” hosted by the Penn State Faculty Advisory Group, will take place through Zoom from 3 to 4 p.m. on Friday, March 12.

“I think we are all missing our usual everyday interactions, and we want to provide an opportunity for instructors to take some time to connect with each other and hopefully create community across the University,” said Josh Wede, co-lead of the Faculty Advisory Group and teaching professor of psychology in the College of the Liberal Arts.

Participants are invited to grab a cup of coffee or tea and share their successes and challenges from the semester. Participants will have the opportunity to divide into smaller groups to exchange ideas with faculty from across the University.

No registration is required. Join the Zoom webinar at the allotted time by visiting the Keep Teaching website.

The virtual coffee break is the latest in a series of events the Faculty Advisory Group has hosted to provide instructors with opportunities to connect in relaxed, informal settings and share tips and tactics for teaching in remote, mixed-mode and in-person environments. Future events for instructors are forthcoming and will be publicized on the Keep Teaching website.

The Faculty Advisory Group serves to provide a forum for open discussion among faculty across the University’s Covid-19 Response Task Force Groups.
