UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center will offer two webinars in March with a guest speaker from PNC, as well as two rounds of trivia.

A full calendar of financial literacy events, including their Zoom links, can be found at financialliteracy.psu.edu.

Webinars

The March webinars will feature presentations from Ginger Bosworth, vice president for organizational financial wellness and financial wellness consultant at PNC.

The first webinar, from noon to 1 p.m. on March 9, will cover the FICO credit score. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about what credit reporting agencies do, what makes up a FICO credit score, what financial actions will hurt that score, what actions don’t have an effect on the score and how to protect, improve and repair the FICO credit score.

In the March 23 webinar, from noon to 1 p.m., participants can learn how to know if their identity is compromised, how to protect their identity from theft, how to protect themselves when they travel, how to protect their family and children and what to do if their identity has been compromised.

Self-study modules for all webinars are available here from “MoneyCounts: A Penn State Financial Literacy Series.”

Trivia

The Center will continue its ongoing trivia series from 4-5 p.m. on March 4. After trivia, participants are encouraged to stick around for a “Finlit Five,” where they can talk privately with Center staff about any financial concerns or questions.

The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center offers services to the entire Penn State community and is part of Penn State Undergraduate Education, the academic administrative unit that provides leadership and coordination for University-wide programs and initiatives in support of undergraduate teaching and learning at Penn State.
