UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Registration is now open for the 36th annual Graduate Exhibition, a showcase of musical performances, cutting-edge research, and visual arts presented by Penn State's graduate students. All degree-seeking graduate students who are currently enrolled in graduate degree programs at Penn State are eligible to participate in exhibition, which will be held in a virtual, online format from March 24 to 26.
Registration closes March 7.
Each exhibition entry will be judged and scored. Penn State alumni, faculty and the general public are encouraged to register as judges. Awards will be given to those students whose presentations are judged best in each category.
Graduate students can choose from five registration options, including:
Research Presentations: The Research Presentation Option is open to graduate students from all disciplines at the University. Students will present their research via a recorded oral presentation with accompanying slides.
Design: The Design Option is open to graduate students from all disciplines whose research focuses on the design of a product, whether that be in a three-dimensional or digital space. Students will present their design projects via a recorded oral presentation with accompanying slides.
Visual Arts: The Visual Arts Option is open to graduate students for whom creating studio work is a required part of their graduate degree program. Student artworks will be displayed for judges and the public on the Exhibition website. In addition, student artworks will be showcased in the HUB-Robeson Gallery on the University Park campus from March 20 to May 9.
Video: The Video Option is open to graduate students from all disciplines who wish to present their research in a video format. Videos will be two minutes in length and capture the excitement, importance and value of the scholarly work.
Performance: The Performance Option is open to all graduate students who are pursuing graduate degrees in the performing arts. Performances will be recorded and available for judges and the public to view via the Exhibition Website.

The Graduate Exhibition celebrates research and creative scholarship, in all its aspects, as an essential and exciting part of graduate education at Penn State. Established in 1986, the exhibition places special emphasis on communicating research and creative endeavor to a general audience and offers unique opportunities for professional development by challenging graduate students to present their work in clear, comprehensible terms to people outside their fields.
