• Lynneah Brown, Zoe Mandel and Yanyang Wang, all doctoral candidates in the Department of Education Policy Studies (EPS), are among the 2020 recipients of Dissertation and Research Grant Awards by the American Educational Research Association (AERA). Brown’s project is titled “​Impacts of Tennessee's Performance-Based Funding Policy on STEM Degree Production at Four-Year Universities: A Longitudinal Analysis Using a Difference-in-Differences Design,” while the title of Mandel’s study is “The Principles of Principals: The Impact of School Leader Characteristics on Teacher Turnover.” Wang’s project is titled “Do Inhibitory Control Difficulties Help Explain Peer Victimization in U.S. Elementary Schools?”
• A paper co-authored by Paul Morgan, professor of education in the Department of EPS, “Are Minority Children Disproportionately Represented in Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education?”  is cited in a new report by the Urban Institute on increasing the economic opportunities of young men of color. Morgan’s co-authors on the paper are George Farkas, professor of education at the University of California, Irvine; Marianne M. Hillemeier, professor emerita of health policy and administration and demography in the Penn State College of Health and Human Development; and Steve Maczuga, research analyst in the Department of Dermatology, College of Medicine, at Penn State Hershey.
• Kelly Rosinger, assistant professor of education in the Department of EPS and research associate in the Center for the Study of Higher Education, is featured in a PBS NewsHour report about how the rush by universities and colleges to make the SAT and ACT optional during the pandemic has given hope to advocates for more diversity on campus.

• Adrienne Woods, a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of EPS, was offered a National Science Foundation fellowship at the University of Chicago’s Summer Institute in Advanced Research Methods for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics education research.
