UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Applications are now open for the Job Shadow program organized by Penn State Alumni Career Services, to be held virtually from March 1 to March 12.

The Penn State Alumni Association’s Alumni Career Services team has partnered with Lion Ambassadors and the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) to host an online job shadow experience for students, featuring Penn State alumni as guides through the career exploration journey.

Students will be paired with alumni based on criteria submitted in the program application and will have the opportunity to experience the real world through the eyes of a Penn Stater.

Students and Alumni interested in participating must submit an application by 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 17. Student/alumni pairings will be sent out the week of Feb. 22.

Full details on the program and the application can be found by clicking clicking here.

The Job Shadow program will be organized through LionLink, the career connections and mentorship platform of the Penn State Alumni Association. Those interested in participating in this program must have a LionLink profile.

Alumni will be asked to commit to volunteering at least one hour of time for 1-on-1 meetings with students as part of the job shadow experience. Examples of valuable job shadow opportunities are attending a virtual sales presentation, talking about a project through a shared desktop, or allowing the student to attend a Zoom meeting with colleagues or committees.

For more information, email the Alumni Career Services team at alumnicareer@psu.edu or call 814-865-5465.
