Renovations to Sproul Hall, part of The Towers at East Halls, were completed in November. The newly renovated Sproul Hall, the most recent of the four East Halls residence hall buildings to be renovated, will be ready to welcome students during February move-in.

Sproul Hall, which houses 300 students, features a community kitchen, quiet study/wellness area, knowledge stations, meeting room and lounges. The last phase of the renovation also included modification to the loading dock area for Findlay Commons, which improves pedestrian safety.

A second renovated residence building, Geary Hall, which houses 273 students, opened for the fall semester in August.

“Both buildings were supposed to open in August 2020, but due to COVID, construction was shut down for a couple of weeks, delaying the schedule,” said Chad Henning, interim senior associate director of housing operations. “Once we were back under way, we decided to accelerate Geary Hall for a fall opening and delay Sproul. We’re looking forward to welcoming students to both residence halls for spring semester.”
