UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s Student News Readership Program, a long-standing effort aimed at providing students with access to trusted journalism, has added free, digital access to the Centre Daily Times as part of their news offerings.

All students at University Park are eligible to subscribe, as well as faculty and staff who are encouraged to subscribe as part of a limited-offering available on a first-come, first-served basis.

To register, students, faculty and staff should visit newspapers.psu.edu and follow instructions for access using a Penn State email address. An email confirmation will be sent to verify University affiliation.

Subscription renewal will be required each semester, and will be prompted by an email reminder.

Centre Daily Times access is now offered in addition to free, unlimited digital subscription access to The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. Robust subscriptions include access to podcasts, videos and interactive media in addition to standard news content.

The Student News Readership Program, a unit of Penn State Student Affairs, has provided students with free news access for more than 20 years. The program aims to offer access to trusted journalism, including breaking news and in-depth reporting on important international, national and local issues, while also encouraging newspaper readership for life.
