Penn State Berks' 'Inspire the Night' THON benefit dinner goes virtual

January 08, 2021

WYOMISSING, Pa. — Berks Benefitting THON, a Penn State Berks student organization, will host its fourth annual "Inspire the Night" benefit dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this event will be held virtually via Zoom this year. This event is open to students, faculty, staff and community members. Tickets can be purchased directly through the Berks Benefitting THON website. Individual tickets cost $20 and student tickets cost $10. Customers Bank is again serving as the title partner for this year’s event.

The event will immerse guests in an understanding of THON, the largest student-run philanthropic event in the world committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. THON’s mission is to provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness and ensure funding for critical research — all in pursuit of a cure.

The event will provide an evening of fun, inspiration and much more. Attendees will hear from families who have been impacted by pediatric cancer and benefited from the funds raised by THON. In addition, a significant supporter to the organization will be recognized and there will be a display of artwork created by third and fourth graders who participated in THON’s fourth annual art contest.

Funds raised through events like this help ensure families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food. Last year’s event raised nearly $16,000 to help families affected by pediatric cancer. This year, Berks Benefitting THON hopes to increase that amount.
