There is still time to get your flu shot

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Human Resources, in partnership with Health Advocate, previously announced a three-pronged approach for the 2020 flu vaccine throughout the commonwealth. The flu vaccines are free for all Penn State employees, regardless of participation in a University-sponsored health care plan. At this time, all clinics have passed, occurring in September and October, however, employees who still seek to receive their flu shot still have two option they can choose from below.

  1. Employees who are members of the Penn State’s health care plan, as in the past, can receive a vaccine at any network pharmacy or at their primary physician’s office. These employees do not need a voucher, but simply need to take their CVS Caremark prescription drug card to a network pharmacy to use this benefit immediately.
  2. Employees who do not participate in the Penn State health care plan, or who are not benefit-eligible, can also request a voucher from Health Advocate to receive a vaccine at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Rite Aid, and Safeway pharmacies, where available.

Additional information and instruction on how to obtain a voucher, can be found on the HR website or by calling Health Advocate at 800.970.1263.
