Registration open for webinar about Spanish-speaking research populations

SMaRT Connects networking session is Dec. 10

“Non-English Speaking Diversity and Inclusion in Research: Spanish Population” will be presented at the next Penn State College of Medicine SMaRT Connects webinar from 1 to 2 p.m. on Dec. 10.

William Calo and Sol Rodriguez-Colon will provide an overview of the importance of diversity and inclusion within research, specific cultural considerations within the Spanish population, and effective strategies to maximize reach and inclusion of non-English speaking Spanish research participants. Attendees will engage in breakout sessions to discuss barriers and successful strategies to effectively include non-English speaking Spanish research participants in projects.

SMaRT Connects, a resource of the Staffing, Mentorship and Research Training (SMaRT) Program, supports human subjects research professionals at the College of Medicine. The sessions provide timely College of Medicine research process information, professional development and networking. At each session, attendees will learn the latest tips, techniques, policies and procedures from subject matter experts who facilitate discussion, answer questions and provide guidance.
