International Education Week to showcase world cultures at Lehigh Valley

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Penn State Lehigh Valley (PSU-LV) will host International Education Week during Nov. 14-18. The Office of Student Life will work with the Global Students Organization (GSO) and the Muslim Student Association (MSA) to showcase different cultures of the world through displays in Centre Hall and the Lion’s Den and highlights on the PSU-LV Student Life Instagram account (@psulvstudentlife).

International Education Week’s events will include:

  • Monday, Nov. 16, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m.: The Muslim Student Association will host display tables of five different countries in the Centre Hall Lion’s Den area. This will include information on cultures and customs related to each country, shared by student representatives at each table.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 17: The Global Students Organization will host an Instagram takeover on the @psulvstudentlife Instagram account to share the international influence PSU-LV’s students bring to campus.
  • Tuesday Nov. 17 and Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m.: The Global Students Association will have a variety of countries, different than those featured on Monday, at exhibits in the Centre Hall Lion’s Den area. Student representatives will stand with the displays to share information on the tables and the cultures they depict.

All COVID rules and guidelines will be in place to ensure compliance so the events meet safety guidelines. During the entire week, the displays will remain up so students, faculty and staff who pass by may stop to observe these.
