UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Transportation Services is asking Penn State students, faculty, staff and community members who bike on the University Park campus to complete a survey regarding their campus bicycling experiences.
Transportation Services has recently applied to the League of American Bicyclists to renew its Bicycle Friendly University (BFU) designation. The University Park campus was awarded silver BFU status in 2016 and since then has implemented a variety of projects and programs led by Transportation Services’ sustainable transportation program coordinator, Cecily Zhu, such as campus bike sharing, bike workshops and safety nights, the Bicycle Education and Enforcement Program, and additional covered bicycle parking. In 2021, a new bike share program is expected to launch on campus, as is a bike community space within the new West Campus Parking Deck.
The survey will be available until Monday, Nov. 30, and responses will be used by the League of American Bicyclists to understand the experience of campus cyclists to help inform its final decision on Penn State’s BFU designation.
