Global Programs accepting nominations for international faculty, student awards

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Global Programs is now accepting nominations for the 2021 Advancing a Global Penn State Awards, the 2021 W. LaMarr Kopp International Faculty Award and the 2021 Ardeth and Norman Frisbey International Student Awards. Recipients will be recognized in Spring 2021.

Advancing Global Penn State Awards

The purpose of the Advancing Global Penn State Awards program is to recognize outstanding contributions of individuals and academic units across the University, including the Commonwealth Campuses, who have demonstrated success towards achieving the goals of a Global Penn State. Awards are presented in five categories; complete award descriptions are available online. The nomination deadline for these awards are Feb. 1, 2021.

The W. LaMarr Kopp International Faculty Achievement Award recognizes faculty members at Penn State who make extraordinary contributions to the advancement of the international mission of the University. This award recognizes faculty for excellence in leadership and support for international education, service to the international community, and international research.

One full-time faculty member will be selected to receive the award in 2021. The award will be presented at the annual University-Wide Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony. The nomination deadline for this award is Jan. 20, 2021.

The Ardeth and Norman Frisbey International Student Awards recognize international students (holding non-immigrant status) who are enrolled in an academic program at any Penn State campus and have demonstrated exemplary service and contributions that further international understanding at the University and beyond.

Four international students will be selected for the 2021 Ardeth and Norman Frisbey International Student Awards. Two awards for graduate students and two for undergraduate students will be awarded. The nomination deadline for this award is Jan. 20, 2021.
