Siemens USA CEO Barbara Humpton to speak at Smeal leadership series

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Barbara Humpton, president and CEO of Siemens USA, will share her perspectives on business and leadership with the Penn State Smeal College of Business on Friday, Oct. 30. Her virtual discussion is part of Smeal’s Executive Insights series.

She will take part in a moderated Zoom discussion with Charles H. Whiteman, the dean of Smeal, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. The event is open to the public, but online registration is required.

Humpton guides the company’s strategy and engagement in serving Siemens’ largest market in the world. As the largest industrial software provider worldwide, Siemens focuses on intelligent infrastructure for buildings and distributed energy systems, and automation and digitalization in manufacturing. The company also is a world-leading supplier of medical technology and digital healthcare services.

She has served in a variety of leadership roles in her more than nine years at Siemens, including president and CEO of Siemens Government Technologies Inc., and senior vice president and chief operating officer.

Before joining Siemens, Humpton was the chairman of the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA). Previously, she was a vice president at Booz Allen Hamilton and a vice president and director at Lockheed Martin.

She serves on the board of directors of MorganFranklin, the American Heart Association Greater Washington Region, the CSBA, and the George Washington University Law School Government Contracts Advisory Board.

Humpton holds a degree in mathematics from Wake Forest University.
