World-renowned infectious disease researchers to lecture on COVID-19 Sept. 24

HERSHEY, Pa. — Dr. David Ho, director of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center in New York City, and Peter Hudson, Willaman Professor of Biology at Penn State, will discuss the scientific challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic during Discovery Space of Central Pennsylvania’s virtual "Nights to Discover" speaker series on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.

Ho’s work on HIV replication earned him the 2001 Presidential Medal of Honor, and Hudson’s work on wildlife diseases earned him election to the Royal Society and Humanitarian of the Year in 2019. Both scientists will draw on their experiences in infectious disease research to engage audiences in discussion of the COVID-19 pandemic.
