Zoom via the web unavailable; users encouraged to utilize Zoom desktop client

UPDATE (12:39 p.m.): The issue with access to Zoom via the web has been resolved. 

Access via the Zoom LTI in Canvas has also been restored. Zoom is continuing to monitor the issue to make sure these services remain operational.


If you are continuing to experience issues, you may want to clear your cache before accessing the Zoom web application. Check out this article for instructions on how to clear your cache and cookies

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State is aware of current widespread Zoom outages as reported by the Zoom vendor. Zoom has indicated that it has identified the issue and is working on a fix. For updates, visit https://status.zoom.us/.

At this time, access to Zoom via the web is unavailable, but access may be available via the Zoom desktop client. Zoom LTI in Canvas may also be unavailable.

To download the Zoom desktop client:

For Windows:

For Mac: 

https://downloads.its.psu.edu/products/zoom/bin/Zoom-5.2.1.pkg  

If you are having issues launching a Zoom meeting from a link via the web, access the Zoom meeting via the Zoom desktop client. Manually input your Zoom meeting ID and passcode in the Zoom desktop client to launch your Zoom meeting.
