“I have been teaching part-time for Penn State and there was an opportunity to join the department on a full-time basis teaching courses I am familiar with, so it was an opportunity to fully bring my corporate background to the classroom,” said Missien. “Previously, I hosted an intern from the Penn State’s department of Health Policy and Administration and served as a guest lecturer where I noticed the energy that the faculty had for the students, and the quality of students. It seemed like an opportune time to join a growing academic department and prestigious university.”

Missien earned both her bachelor of science in marketing and MBA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She has also served in business development and investor relations roles.

A degree in health policy and administration prepares students to work in a variety of health care organizations, such as hospitals, physician practices, home health agencies, health insurance companies, medical device manufacturers, research and policy organizations or governmental agencies.
