Students, employees selected for pre-arrival testing reminded to complete test

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State is reminding students and employees who were selected for pre-arrival COVID-19 testing to initiate and complete their at-home saliva test immediately, if they have not already done so.

Students selected for mandatory pre-arrival testing will need to receive their results before they will be permitted to return to campus, including moving into on-campus residence halls and beginning classes. The entire testing process will take at least seven to 10 days from the time students order their test kit. Once the test is taken, results can generally be expected within 48 to 72 hours after the sample kit arrives at the lab for processing.

Those selected for testing have been notified via their Penn State email address and provided with instructions on how to complete the testing process through Vault Health. Individuals who were selected but have not yet taken the test will receive a follow-up reminder from Vault Health.

Approximately 30,000 Penn State students, faculty and staff were chosen for pre-arrival COVID-19 testing.
