Registration open for webinar about increasing connectedness in research teams

HERSHEY, Pa. — “Factors of Happiness: Making Connections at Work” will be presented at the next Penn State College of Medicine SMaRT Connects webinar from 8 to 9 a.m. on Aug. 20. LeKecia Shaw, an organizational development consultant from the HR Center for Learning and Leadership Development, will discuss what it means to be happy at work and how to increase the engagement and connectedness within research teams, despite physical distancing and location barriers.

Research professionals will learn about factors supporting workplace happiness, engage in breakout sessions to reflect on their current culture of happiness, and discover effective strategies to enhance connectedness among their teams.

SMaRT Connects, a resource of the Staffing, Mentorship and Research Training (SMaRT) Program, supports human-subjects research professionals through timely College of Medicine research-process information, professional development and networking. At each session, attendees will learn the latest tips, techniques, policies and procedures from subject-matter experts who facilitate discussion, answer questions and provide guidance.
