Christy Healey is Penn State Scranton's August Employee of the Month

Penn State Scranton Chancellor Marwan Wafa has announced that Christy Healey, assistant financial officer, is the August Employee of the Month.

In her nomination of Healey, Director of Information Technology Marilee Mulvey wrote: “Christy Healey has provided support for the Information Technology department for many years and I've had the pleasure of seeing her work and have enjoyed our friendly interactions. Her attention to detail, especially with complicated technology orders, her timely response whenever we have questions and her initiative to research and unravel purchase orders has been a tremendous help for the IT department. She goes above and beyond every day.  In particular, this Spring she worked with purchasing on our behalf on some complicated billing issues and resolved the situation effectively and quickly.  Her work is top-notch -- always.  I'm very thankful we have Christy at our campus.” 

Michele Nicoteri, student programs and services administrative support assistant, stated: “Christy has been busier than usual this year with the end of year budget closing since we are transitioning into SIMBA. She has been doing a lot of work behind the scenes in clearing up budget items to make the transition work. In addition to doing these many tasks, she serves as the point of contact for staff that are trying to navigate processes of working remotely. She is also taking many hours of training in SIMBA in addition to her daily duties. Christy is always helpful and professional and available and she has been a huge help to me. Thank you, Christy.”

The Employee of the Month recognition was initiated in 2016 by Wafa as a way of distinguishing staff members who "go above and beyond the call of duty" in serving Penn State Scranton.
