2019-20 performance management cycle for University staff ends July 31

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — For all Penn State staff employees, the final step of the 2019-20 performance management cycle, the end-of-year review, ends at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 31.

Staff employees should have received their end-of-year task in Workday unless the employee has not completed either Step 1: setting goals or Step 2: mid-year check-in. Once either of those steps are completed, the employee will receive the Step 3: end-of-year review task the following day. Staff employees in a “leave” or “furlough” status are not required to complete an end-of-year review.

The end-of-year review is an opportunity for managers and their employees to discuss the prior year's accomplishments and begin setting goals for the coming year. While these conversations are always important, during this time of change and uncertainty, reflecting on the past year and engaging in meaningful performance conversations will be particularly valuable to both the manager and employee. Please make time for these important discussions.

Staff employees and managers are welcome to contact HR Services with questions regarding this year’s performance management cycle by calling 814-865-1473 or by submitting an inquiry via WorkLion.
