UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – To learn more about the task group that is researching and testing available masks and PPE for classroom, lab, and other campus space, view this informational video featuring Keefe Manning, professor of biomedical engineering and associate dean of the Schreyer Honors College.

Manning describes the three main goals of the group, which includes evaluating different types of mask and PPE options, considering the needs of different classroom and laboratory spaces, and testing the masks in University classrooms for safety as well as usability by partnering with the Penn State acoustics experts to test the best microphone/audio options for these masks. The group has already begun testing and will soon release initial mask- and PPE-wearing guidelines that will continue to be updated as additional information is gathered.
