New look coming to the Learning Resource Network for employees

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — On Wednesday, July 1, The Penn State Human Resources’ Talent Management team will partner with Cornerstone to launch a new, user-friendly design and layout for the Learning Resource Network (LRN).

This design provides a better user experience by displaying user-specific information such as:

  • Continue Learning – courses that you started and are currently in progress.
  • Inspired by your Subjects – courses related to subjects you have selected as areas of interest.
  • Required – courses that are mandatory based on your role with the University.
  • Suggested – courses that are recommended based on your previously completed courses.

The content is curated based on the employee’s interests and previously viewed courses.

As part of this new design, the homepage will now provide a more robust search function. Through advanced filtering, users will be able to search based on language, course duration, course type, and subject, in addition to a standard keyword and course title search.

To help employees navigate and take advantage of these new enhancements, Talent Management has created training via Zoom: Getting to Know the Learning Resource Network — How to Access and Navigate on Demand/Online Trainings and Free Online Books as well as Knowledge Base articles in WorkLion.

Any training taken prior to the launch of this new design and layout will carry over in the employee’s learning transcript. Employees with questions should reach out to HR Services at 814-865-1473.
