UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Zoubeida Ounaies, professor of mechanical engineering and newly appointed director of the Convergence Center for Living Multifunctional Material Systems, and Jürgen Rühe, professor for chemistry and physics of interfaces at the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg and spokesman for the Cluster of Excellence for Living, Adaptive and Energy-autonomous Materials Systems, will participate in a live talk at 9 a.m. EST on June 24, focused on the continued development of international partnerships during COVID-19.
The session, titled "International Cooperation in Science and Research during COVID-19: The new normal in the U.S. and Germany," will take place in English and is open to all interested.
The University of Freiburg in Germany, an established strategic partner, and Penn State signed an agreement in July 2019 to establish a joint center for living materials.
The Live Talk is hosted by Baden-Wurttemberg International, the Agency for International Economic and Scientific Cooperation, a state governmental agency in the Baden-Wurttemberg region of Germany where the University of Freiburg is located. The Talk is part of a series devoted to impact of the coronavirus on international cooperation in science, research, and partnerships with the University of Freiburg.
