SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – New Penn State Schuylkill students may not be able to participate in the usual on-campus orientation events this summer, but they’ll still be able to meet classmates, make new friends, and get connected to faculty and staff.
Through LionConnect, Penn State Schuylkill’s online hub for events and student organizations, incoming students can participate in the Fall 2020 Incoming Class group. From there, students can share messages, pictures, and videos to each other in the group news feed; hear from current students and spring 2020 graduates; and register for more than a dozen information sessions designed to help them acclimate to their new college home.
“The LionConnect group functions similarly to social media group pages, with the added benefit of being a private platform just for the campus community,” said Bryan Valentine, director of student affairs and engagement at Penn State Schuylkill. “We have an incredible lineup of programming for our new students, and I’m looking forward to getting to know each of them and welcoming them to Penn State Schuylkill.”
