The members of the CACM Editorial Board for Contributions are responsible for the peer-reviewed content of the journal. They propose papers that address the most exciting topics in computer science and curate the peer review process for submissions. Members of the board are invited to join by the editor in chief of the publication.
“I am honored to have this opportunity to serve on the editorial board for Communications of the ACM,” Jaeger said. “I especially am very excited to participate in development of papers on cutting-edge topics in computer science, particularly those examining how various technologies can address challenges in my area of computer and network security.”
Jaeger’s primary research interests are systems and software security. He has published more than 150 research papers and the textbook Operating Systems Security, which has been used in universities worldwide, and has made significant contributions to the Linux community to improve system security.
Jaeger is currently the consortium program manager for the Army Research Lab’s Cybersecurity Collaborative Research Alliance, which includes six academic institutions and two industrial partners. He serves as an executive committee member as past chair — from 2013-2017 — of ACM’s Special Interest Group on Security, Audit and Control (SIGSAC). He also serves as the steering committee chair and general chair of the Network and Distributed System Security Symposium, the associate editor of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Security and Privacy Magazine and as an academic advisory board member of the United Kingdom’s Cyber Body of Knowledge (CyBoK) project.
