University extends on-campus student move-out period to June 14

UNIVERSITY, Pa. -- Penn State Housing and Food Services has announced that the move-out period for students with on-campus housing will extend to at least June 14.

Penn State previously announced plans and procedures for students as Pennsylvania began easing restrictions in 37 counties.

Currently, only students residing in yellow-phased Pennsylvania counties or states that have reduced travel restrictions are being invited to reserve a date and time to retrieve their belongings at Altoona, Beaver, Behrend, Greater Allegheny and University Park campuses.

Housing officials said they are continuing to monitor the easing of stay-at-home restrictions across Pennsylvania and other states. The extension of the move-out date from June 7 to June 14 is a recognition that some areas may take longer to lift restrictions allowing students additional time to retrieve their belongings. Some campus locations are still within red phase counties awaiting approval from the governor.

Officials added that if necessary, they planned to further extend the deadline to accommodate students from areas that are still under travel restrictions.

More information about Penn State’s response to the coronavirus can be found at, as well as move out details on the Penn State Housing website.
