UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Libraries has added two new sessions to its Enabling Remote Research online seminar series, presented in collaboration with Penn State Information Technology, the Institute for Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS) and the Office of the Associate CIO for Research.
Enabling Remote Research is a series of free seminars, offered via Zoom teleconferencing technology, to assist researchers with shifting their research from onsite to offsite. Individual seminars are designed to help researchers reimagine their research enterprises to minimize their reliance on physical presence at specific locations, said Greg Madden, associate CIO for research at Penn State.
“The health and safety of the Penn State community is the University’s highest priority,” Madden said. “This seminar series is one way we have committed to helping researchers execute their research effectively while operating from remote locations away from Penn State offices, labs, and facilities. While recognizing that not all work can be performed remotely, we want to help researchers recognize what portion of their workflow can be done remotely and adopt appropriate tools.”
The two new seminar sessions are:
- Monday, June 15 — Working with Core Facilities Remotely
- Monday, June 22 — Digital Security Best Practices for Conducting Research Remotely
