Penn State Abington launched more than 350 graduates into the world on Saturday, May 9, during a University-wide virtual commencement ceremony followed by personalized web content specifically for Abington.

The livestreamed event involved traditional ceremonial components, including formal remarks and conferral of degrees for undergraduate students at University Park and all Commonwealth Campuses, as well as for graduate students in The Graduate School. The video is available at https://spring2020.commencement.psu.edu/

Following the livestreamed ceremony, graduates and their families had the opportunity to view a webpage created for Abington that includes individual student recognition with shareable digital slides, a video letter from Abington Chancellor Damian J. Fernandez, and comments from valedictorian Michael Litz. A video features faculty and staff congratulating the Class of 2020.

Michael Litz, the Penn State Abington spring 2020 valedictorian, delivers his remarks.

Graduates are encouraged to share photos of their in-home celebrations on social media using the hashtags #psuabgrad #Abington2020.

Each spring graduate will receive a cap and a tassel in the mail as a gift. Diplomas will be mailed the week of June 29.

Penn State Abington is committed to providing an opportunity to invite the Class of 2020 back to campus for an in-person celebration when public health guidelines allow.
