MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Penn State Harrisburg has announced plans for spring 2020 commencement to celebrate the achievements of its more than 800 graduates.

The University's virtual commencement ceremony is set for May 9 at 2 p.m. The ceremony will be livestreamed, and available internationally, at spring2020.commencement.psu.edu/ in celebration of the completion of the academic experience of more than 14,000 Penn State students.

In addition, graduates, friends and families can view the Harrisburg webpage, which will be linked to the virtual ceremony website, for  Penn State Harrisburg recognitions, including greetings from Chancellor John M. Mason Jr., a message from Student Government Association president Riley Cagle, recognition of student marshals from the five academic schools and Graduate Studies, recognition of students graduating with honors and graduates in the U.S. Armed Forces, and a video “look back” at events and scenes from the campus during the past few years.

For those who are not able to tune-in to the virtual ceremony on May 9, it will be recorded and available for later viewing.

While the coronavirus pandemic has led to the University offering this virtual spring 2020 commencement for the Class of 2020, the college invites its graduates to return for a future Penn State Harrisburg commencement ceremony when public health guidelines allow. Details will be announced in the future as more information becomes known.

Graduates, family and friends are also encouraged to share photos of in-home celebrations on social media using the hashtag #PSUHBGgrad and #PSUgrad.
