Bray's research draws from various theoretical frameworks and mixed methods to examine issues of educational practice and policy pertaining to children with disabilities and their families. Her work aims to understand and attend to problems that demand insights into the interconnectedness of the actions, beliefs and artifacts of different stakeholders. While her research interests are diverse, they speak to the nuanced and multifaceted ways that people, learning, resources, institutions and policy impact one another. She currently is involved in several distinct, yet complementary research projects involving special education policy and practice, as well as the design of interventions to enhance families’ participation in the educational process. Bray also serves as an associate director of Parents and Children Together (PACT), which is an established community-university partnership in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
