UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The annual Night of Remembrance vigil, to honor and remember students who passed away during the past academic year, has been postponed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. The candlelight service, an opportunity for members of the University community to come together and reflect and remember those who have passed, will be rescheduled for a later date when it can be held on campus.

"Honoring and remembering our students who’ve passed away over the last year will always be of the utmost importance to the UPUA and other student governments," said Zachary McKay, president of UPUA. "While we may not be able to honor and remember those students in person this spring, their memories are — and will forever be — in my heart, and in the hearts of many others. I look forward to gathering in remembrance of them at the next opportunity deemed safe, and mourn deeply for all who’ve lost loved ones to the virus."

The vigil, usually held during the spring semester, is organized by the organized by the University Park Undergraduate Association, Council of Commonwealth Student Governments, Graduate and Professional Student Association, and World Campus Student Government.
