CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Penn State Lehigh Valley will celebrate its Class of 2020 with a Virtual Senior Celebration on May 9.

This is the same day commencement was to be held at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem before the global pandemic caused a change in plans. Penn State will recognize the class of 2020 with a University-wide virtual commencement ceremony that will be streamed across the Commonwealth on May 9. In addition to that celebration, Penn State Lehigh Valley will honor seniors from the campus with a digital program book and social media celebration.

The University is committed to providing opportunities to invite the Class of 2020 back for in-person celebrations when public health guidelines allow.

“May 9 will be a landmark day for our seniors to share the joy of their accomplishments with the campus community as well as their family and friends. While the global pandemic has made us pivot, we still want to acknowledge students in special ways through a Virtual Senior Celebration!” said Tina Q. Richardson, chancellor, Penn State Lehigh Valley. “I can’t wait to see the submissions and get to celebrate each and every graduating senior virtually until we can be together in person again.”

Graduating students are requested to share a photo that is appropriate for publication, along with details about their majors and involvement on campus. This will be included in a digital program book and on Penn State Lehigh Valley’s social media. Follow Penn State Lehigh Valley on FacebookTwitter and Instagram

The students will have an opportunity to share a short message about their college experience, give a shoutout to their classmates and professors, or share something about their future plans.

Graduating seniors can submit their details through a form on the Virtual Senior Celebration webpage. The deadline for submission is Monday, April 20.
