UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Office of Undergraduate Education announced March 25 that the Student Engagement Network Grant Program has been postponed.
This decision was made with the health and well-being of Penn State students, faculty, staff and community in mind, and is aligned with state, national and global efforts to suppress the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Unfortunately, this means application reviews have been suspended and grants for Maymester and summer 2020 are canceled. Future grant cycles have been postponed indefinitely.
Michael Zeman, director of the Student Engagement Network, said, “We thank our applicants for putting in so much time and effort and we share in their disappointment at the need to suspend our grant program for the summer. Our top priority is student safety and we made this decision with that in mind. We will continue to support our students’ continued growth and experiential learning by developing more tools and programs during this period of remote learning and look forward to a time soon when we can resume our grant program, which has provided meaningful experiences for so many.”
