CATA operating on modified service schedule

The Centre Area Transportation Authority has announced that it will continue to operate on a modified service schedule until further notice. Of note, CATA has ceased the operation of all routes, with the exception of the HM (Nittany Mall/Toftrees), NV (Harvershire/Martin/Vairo/Toftrees), P (Tussey Mountain), RP (Waupelani Drive/Downtown), and W (Valley Vista) Routes and the Blue Loop and Red Link, all of which are operating on a modified service schedule with reduced frequencies. Credit: Penn StateCreative Commons

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) has announced that it will continue to operate on a modified service schedule, effective Wednesday, March 25, until further notice.

In addition, to protect its employees and the community and encourage social distancing, CATA is not currently collecting fares on any of its services (including CATABUS, CATARIDE and CATAGO!). Passengers on fixed route service who are able to are encouraged to board the bus from the rear door (any passenger using a mobility device would still board the bus through the front door)

CATABUS

CATA has ceased the operation of all routes, with the exception of the HM (Nittany Mall/Toftrees), NV (Harvershire/Martin/Vairo/Toftrees), P (Tussey Mountain), RP (Waupelani Drive/Downtown), and W (Valley Vista) routes and the Blue Loop and Red Link, all of which are operating on a modified service schedule with reduced frequencies. Modified route schedules can be found on respective route site pages and below.

All service now operates 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is no weekend service.

The Blue Loop is operating on a 20-minute frequency.

CATARIDE

CATARIDE is currently available to ONLY provide transportation to destinations on the governor's list (i.e. medical facilities, grocery stores, employers on the governor's list, and religious organizations).

The service is currently available during the modified hours of Monday through Friday, from 4:45 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday service is limited to only appointments relating to life-sustaining treatment such as dialysis and chemotherapy/radiation.  There is no service Sundays.

Call-in hours for next day reservations are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

CATAGO!

CATAGO! is currently available to ONLY provide transportation to destinations on the governor's list (i.e. medical facilities, grocery stores, employers on the governor’s list, and religious organizations).

CATAGO! has been expanded to also serve Pleasant Gap. To learn more about the service, how to use it and make reservations, please visit catabus.com/go!

The service is currently available during the modified hours of Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. There is no weekend service.

At this time, due to the nature of this crisis, this service schedule will continue until further notice. Additional updates can be found at https://catabus.com/reduced-service/ as they become available.

CATA's Customer Service Center is currently closed to walk-in traffic; however, staff will be available to answer calls Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
