Penn State adds in-state home delivery to eBuy online marketplace

March 25, 2020

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — To accommodate the growing number of staff working from home, Penn State has added new features for setting up orders for home delivery in eBuy, the online marketplace for faculty and staff.

All non-catalog eBuy orders can now be shipped to non-Penn State home addresses within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This option is also available for catalog suppliers, including Penn State General Stores for non-stock items, as well as CDW-G, Dell, SHI, Fastenal, Grainger and B&H Photo.

At this time, all other catalog orders with suppliers not listed above must still be delivered to a valid Penn State address. Additional catalog suppliers may be added based on the success of other suppliers’ capabilities, and the list of suppliers available for home delivery will be updated in the future.

In all cases, University purchases establish Penn State’s ownership of the goods purchased. Those goods must be consumed for University purposes and/or returned to the University for further use.

In order to ship to a home address, follow these steps:

  • Create your order in eBuy as usual, but edit your shipping address before completing the order.
  • Select the prompt to choose a new address not already associated with your account.
  • Select the prompt to “choose from org addresses.”
  • Search for the campus building code “ot0037” and select the resulting address.
  • Next, under “External Notes and Attachments,” select the prompt to edit the note to all suppliers.
  • Type your actual shipping address in the note to suppliers.
    • You must use the following address protocol exactly, including the bracketed tags before each piece of information:

[StateCode] PA

  • When finished, your address should resemble the following example. Include the [Address2] tag even if you do not need a second address line. Include a current phone number, not your office number.

[Name] John Doe

[Address1] 123 Anywhere Road

[City] State College

[StateCode] PA

[PostalCode] 16801

[Phone] 814-555-1234

  • Save your address in the system.
