Parent and Family Experience platform connects campus to families

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — The Penn State Parents Program has partnered with Commonwealth Campuses, including Penn State Harrisburg, to offer the Parent and Family Experience platform for connecting with students' parents and families.

Parent and family support is an important part of student success and one of the best ways parents and family members can support their student is by familiarizing themselves with campus resources to help their student navigate their Penn State journey.

The Parent and Family Experience provides users with a rich online experience that can be personalized to fit individual family needs. Within the portal, users can make selections to see the news and information that is relevant to them. The portal connects users to resources about topics such as academics, health and safety, financial aid, and important University updates. If families have students at more than one Penn State campus, they will be able to select to receive news from multiple campuses when completing their profile.

In addition to news, the portal centralizes links and resources about topics such as academics, health and safety, financial aid, and events. When parents have additional questions, they can post comments, which are read and answered daily by Penn State staff.

Parents and family members can sign up for the portal by visiting the Parent and Family Experience.

Penn State Harrisburg community members with questions may contact Donna Howard, associate director of student life and intercultural programs, at 717-948-6273 or djh1@psu.edu.
