Virtual office hours offer remote teaching help

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — To continue supporting Penn State faculty’s remote teaching, Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) is offering virtual office hours each day during the week of March 16. During these sessions, instructors can get help with transitioning their courses from a residential format to remote. This week’s schedule of virtual office hours is:

Monday, March 16: 3-7 p.m.
Tuesday, March 17: 9-11 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.
Wednesday, March 18: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Thursday, March 19: 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.
Friday, March 20: noon to 4 p.m.

Faculty are welcome to drop in and ask questions, learn more about University resources, and pick up best practices for their unique class situations. Log in at any time during the office hours using the Virtual Office Hours Zoom link. For those who are new to Zoom, watch the Join a Meeting Video and consider joining a Test Meeting prior to the office hours.

These will be group conversations rather than one-on-one consultations. For one-on-one help from an instructional designer, use this link to book a consultation. If you have questions about any of this week’s virtual office hours, contact continuity@psu.edu.

Review https://remoteteaching.psu.edu/ for resources to offer your course content remotely.

Faculty can also explore online resources provided by Penn State IT Learning and Development.

Additionally, Penn State faculty members are being provided with support around accessibility and the transition to remote teaching. Submit the Accessibility Consultation Form for assistance with accessible digital course materials, lecture technology, Canvas, captioning, or any other accessibility questions.
