Residents in Dauphin County will soon have greater access to Penn State Health services and providers when a new primary care location opens near the intersection of Linglestown and Crums Mill roads in Lower Paxton Township.

The new, 7,500-square-foot Penn State Health Medical Group practice will initially include 12 exam rooms and additional clinical support space for a team of four primary care providers and about a dozen support staff. The building would also include shell space for eight additional exam rooms to allow for future expansion.

Penn State Health plans to begin construction on the new facility this spring, with an anticipated opening to patients in fall 2020.

“Penn State Health, along with Highmark Health, made a promise to put our services where they best serve our patients, which is in their communities and closer to their homes,” said Dr. Peter Dillon, executive vice president and chief clinical officer, Penn State Health. “This new outpatient facility is another way we are delivering on that promise.”

In 2017, Penn State Health and Highmark Health made a commitment to build a broader community care network to ensure patients and members in central Pennsylvania are in close proximity to needed primary care, specialty care and appropriate acute care hospital settings. Penn State Health already provides primary and specialty care to Harrisburg area residents at a number of other locations.
