UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Board of Trustees Committee on Finance, Business and Capital Planning approved a proposal to rename the Centre County/Penn State Visitor Center as the Centre County Visitor Center at its meeting today (Feb. 20).

The proposal will be considered by the full board during its meeting on Feb. 21.

The visitor center facility, located on Park Avenue near Beaver Stadium, is owned by Penn State and leased to its current tenant — the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau, which had previously been named the Central Pennsylvania Convention & Visitors Bureau.

When the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau officially took on its new name in October 2019, the bureau requested that the name of the building also be updated.

As the tenant of the facility, the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau also has requested changes to the signage near the building to reflect its new name. Penn State and the Office of Physical Plant are in the process of working with the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau on updated exterior signage.
