UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — There is still time for Penn State students, faculty and staff at all campus locations to take the Penn State Community Survey. Join the thousands of other Penn Staters who have already participated in the confidential survey to respond to questions about diversity, equity and inclusion across the University. Those who complete the 15-minute survey by its deadline on Feb. 28 will have a chance to win an Amazon or Starbucks gift card ranging from $10 to $50.
For your survey link, search “HEDS Consortium” in your Penn State inbox and/or spam folder. On Feb. 24, community members who have not yet taken the survey will receive a second reminder email from “pennstate@hedsconsortium.org.”
“The University is committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed and valued, and this survey is an opportunity for each of us to play a part in that work. Inclusiveness within our community affects all of us, even if we don’t always feel directly impacted,” said Sonia DeLuca Fernández, associate vice provost for educational equity and survey project co-chair. “There are ways for all of us to help engage each other and encourage participation — for example, students can reach out through their clubs and networks, and faculty and staff can consider setting aside class, meeting or sports practice time for people to complete the survey.”
Following the survey, the Office of Educational Equity and the Office of Planning, Assessment and Institutional Research will offer support and consultation to each area across the University regarding the development of action plans to address the feedback of students, faculty and staff members in their respective areas.
“We are all responsible for the state of our University and for making sure that our values are being upheld throughout the entire Penn State community,” said Denita Wright Watson, academic program manager at Penn State Great Valley and a member of the survey working group. “Make your voice count — this is an opportunity to share what you think the University is doing well and where there are areas for growth.”
