Registration is now open for Workday Recruiting training

The March 23 go-live of the Workday Recruiting module is right around the corner. Workday Recruiting is a new application that will replace Penn State’s psu.jobs and EJMS.* With the upcoming implementation, the project team will be offering training sessions designed to ensure Penn State managers and stakeholders have the knowledge and tools they need to make a successful transition to Workday Recruiting.

In each session, participants will experience first-hand the benefits of the new system, including;

  • Greater access to information for both the hiring manager and candidate
  • Visibility into the entire hiring process from start to finish
  • A user-friendly interface and dashboard
  • New functionality to create job postings
  • A streamlined approval process to expedite job offers

Training will begin on Monday, Feb. 17, and will run through Thursday, March 26.

Training Approach

The training team will be using a blended approach to deliver training that meets the preferred learning methods and time needs of managers and stakeholders. Those methods include:

  • In-person instructor-led training sessions held at University Park and select regional campus sites. Those select campuses will be Penn State Abington, Penn State New Kensington, Penn State Harrisburg, Penn State Behrend, Penn State Hazleton and Penn State Berks
  • Web-based, instructor-led training sessions through Zoom
  • On-demand video and print resources

Training will be divided into Academic and Non-Academic tracks. Both tracks will cover the basics of Applications, Job Requisitions and Candidate Management.

Registration

Managers who have high volume hiring needs this spring and individuals who support those with high volume hiring have been identified as key individuals who should participate in the recommended training. Those individuals will receive an email from the project team, WorkdayRecruiting@psu.edu, with details on how to register.  Registration is in the Learning Resource Network (LRN) and began on Feb. 3. Please be aware, space is limited, and registration will be given on a first come, first served basis.

Ongoing Training Resources

For those who are not able to participate in an instructor facilitated session, training documentation will be available as an ongoing resource for all. Job aids will be available in the Knowledge Base and video guides will be available in the LRN to help throughout the hiring process.
