UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A new iteration of a previous project by Sue Uhlig, doctoral candidate in art education at Penn State, will be exhibited in the Borland Project Space (BPS), Feb. 11-27. The exhibit, titled "A Return to Order and Disorder," is an extension of "Between Order and Disorder," which inhabited BPS during 2018.
"A Return to Order and Disorder" will fill the BPS with objects, furniture and materials collected by participants. The project will make visible the objects people find valuable and the collections they form. Objects within the collective space placed side-by-side aim to inform, challenge and juxtapose one another. Programming will offer viewers the chance to engage in various levels of participation with Uhlig about the challenges and nature of collecting.
A reception will be held 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, in the space.
The Borland Project Space showcases the vibrant research culture of Penn State’s College of Arts and Architecture, moving beyond traditional exhibitions, performances and scholarly programming to illuminate the processes and procedures of “arts research,” which viewers seldom see.
