Registration open for networking session on research interviewing tips

HERSHEY, Pa. — A networking session, “Research Interviews and Focus Group Best Practices,” will be presented at the next SMaRT Connects from 1 to 2 p.m. on Feb. 20 in C2860 at Penn State College of Medicine. Heather Stuckey, associate professor of medicine, public health sciences and humanities, will present ways to conduct focus groups for qualitative research more effectively, and discuss creating effective interview guides to collect rich data. She will also share facilitation techniques, such as redirecting and elaborating, in an interactive role-play session.

SMaRT Connects supports human subjects research professionals through timely College of Medicine research process information, professional development and networking. At each session, attendees will learn the latest tips, techniques, policies and procedures from subject matter experts who facilitate discussion, answer questions and provide guidance.
