Poet Gerry LaFemina to offer reading at Penn State Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona will present a reading of work by poet Gerry LaFemina from 4 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, in the Titelman Study of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.

A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, LaFemina holds a master of fine arts in poetry from Western Michigan University and a master of arts in literature with an emphasis on 20th-century literature from WMU. He has taught at Kirtland Community College, West Virginia University, Wheeling Jesuit University, and Sarah Lawrence College. The former director of the Frostburg Center for Literary Arts and a former board member of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs, he is an associate professor of English at Frostburg State University and a poetry mentor in the Carlow University low-residency MFA program.
